Global Trade and Receivables Finance comprises over 4,500 people across more than 60 countries, helping suppliers and buyers with their export and import finance needs. Trade is where HSBC began in 1865, when we financed commerce between Europe, North America and Asia.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Commodity Structured Trade Finance Business Development .
Drives the CSTF Business Development initiative at the local country level
Makes recommendations specific to the market profile, coordinating with other stakeholders for the efficient delivery of the CSTF mandate
Maximises revenue growth through business development sales
Develop effective strategies for new business growth and specialist proposition in order to generate new income for the Group.
Work closely with sales colleagues to promote awareness of CSTF products, strategies and competitor information amongst the RM and other strategic business communities.
Maintain awareness of the applicable regulatory and business environment: understand audit, tax and legal implications and changes as they affect the customers and the Bank and provide necessary guidance to customers wherever required
Generate referrals for other Global Businesses, Private Banking, GBM, RBWM, as appropriate.
Keep abreast of external factors influencing international business e.g. economic, cultural, geographical, procedural and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrable knowledge of the local CSTF markets and players.
Demonstrable knowledge of CSTF products and hybrid solutions and their application
Demonstrable knowledge of other GTRF products as well as a general knowledge of other bank offerings
Sound application of Credit, Operational and Market risk principles applicable to CSTF
Expected exposure to the CSTF market
Proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs through matching a broad range of products and services
Strong credit assessment skills, particularly with regard to more complex and structured facilities with an international dimension
Proven ability to deliver creative and flexible customer solutions.
Ability to understand a customer's business and the fundamentals of running a business
Good level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues
Ability to interact with business customers at all levels
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills
Excellent range of communication skills, including written, verbal, and the ability to deliver compelling presentations
Strong analytical skills
