Within BCMA - Citi's Capital Markets Origination division is comprised of over 20 different groups, many of which are hybrids between Investment Banking and Sales and Trading. This unique mix of groups drives the fixed income and equities markets by providing products and liquidity for our clients.
EMEA Project and Infrastructure Finance (PIF) - PIF is an integral component of BCMA - CMO and is part of Citi's wider Global Structured Debt team. PIF focuses on greenfield and brownfield asset level project financings, primarily in the power and energy space, but also, selectively, within infrastructure. Mandates include acting as Financial Advisor (developing a financing strategy and structure while guiding clients through the financing process), Arranger (direct lending using the bank's balance sheet), and Bookrunner/Agent (arranging third party financing).
Responsible for the origination and execution of infrastructure, power (including renewables) and project financings:
Work closely with applicable industry bankers to identify and originate infrastructure / project finance financings and advisory situations that meet certain target market and capital returns criteria.
Structure and execute the applicable debt financing for distribution in either the capital markets (including private placements), or loan syndication market, or both.
In select cases, provide advisory services to clients seeking to debt finance a particular situation, on matters relating to debt capacity and sources, capital structure and procurement of export agency and other government guarantees.
Perform a robust credit analysis with respect to each project situation for purposes of seeking (as applicable) internal credit approval consistent with Citi's credit standards and capital return requirements.
As applicable, present a particular project to one or more rating agencies for purposes of procuring a credit rating.
Together with the applicable syndicate desk, interface with banks in the project finance market, as well as certain institutional investors, for purposes of syndicating/selling project risk.
Manage any applicable franchise, reputational or underwriting risk with respect to a specific project situation.
Must have Strong analytical, credit and communication skills that will be tested
Depth of experience at least (Director level) in originating and executing complex infrastructure / project financings, ideally across both the bank market, as well as the capital markets (both investment grade, and high-yield).
Some experience in acquisition finance and bridge loan situations helpful.
Experience across EMEA, Asia-Pacific and/or Americas required with particular emphasis around power, energy and transportation sectors.
Experience in the rating of infrastructure / project financings, and working with ECA's.
