The Assistant Vice President of Finance & Administration serves as a senior administrative officer of the Office of Campus Life with responsibility for providing leadership and oversight for financial and administrative operations for all departments in Campus Life. The Assistant Vice President exercises functional supervision over three administrative units: Housing, University Conferences and Guest Services (UCGS), the University Center and supervises the Director, Technology and Analytics.
The Assistant Vice President directs and executes the financial strategic plan for Campus Life while maintaining compliance with university standards and budgetary guidelines. This position facilitates funding and resource allocation across Campus Life to ensure the best use of resources, both fiscal and physical spaces, in providing programs and services to students, and is responsible for revenue management, strategic planning and projections. Additionally, this position is responsible for overseeing all staff personnel actions, and ensuring compliance in all staff and student personnel matters. This position is the primary liaison to the University’s Human Resources Office, Budget Office, Accounting and Controllers’ office.

Reporting directly to this position are the Director of Housing, Director of University Center, Director, University Conferences and Guest Services, and Manager, Administration & Budget with indirect supervision of 25 full-time staff
Human Resources liaison for 140 full-time staff
Oversees an operation with total revenue budget of $57M , total expenditure budget of $26M and restricted accounts in excess of $5M

Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree required with preference for business administration or related field
More than 12 years of progressive administrative experience in an educational institution with demonstrated experience in budget development and management, strategic planning, resource allocation, programming, and supervisory experience
Demonstrated experience in leadership
Excellent analytical and organizational skills with proven ability to establish and implement strategic priorities in a dynamic and high pressure environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff, maintain confidentiality and interact well with diverse populations and different university constituencies
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-directed in prioritization of tasks and initiatives and to adapt to changing priorities
