Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Finance Manager for the Academic Health Affiliation. This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Finance in the RBHS Senior Vice Chancellor's Office for Finance and Administration and deals daily with highly confidential and sensitive financial information. The Finance Manager manages all funds flow between RBHS and Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health (RWJBH) and is responsible for overseeing the funds flow budget and projection process, and explaining variances throughout the year. As the primary point of contact for invoicing and monitoring reimbursements from RWJBH, the Finance Manager manages the allocation of resources, with direction from the Senior Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration and the RBHS Chancellor, to the individual RBHS Units.
Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manages all aspects of the funds flow between RBHS and RWJBH. This includes but is not limited to: Creation of the annual funds flow budget to provide to RWJBH Leadership on a fiscal year and calendar year basis 3,5 and 10 year budgets will accompany the annual budget process Creation of the funds flow forecast to provide to RWJBH Leadership that will occur quarterly Monthly funds flow variance reporting Invoicing and payment processing and reconciliation with RWJBH Allocation of resources to RBHS Units Tracking recruitments with these resources Metric collection for recruitments Journal entry processing and reconciliation Invoicing and payment processing and reconciliation with RBHS Units
Manages all aspects of the non-RWJBH strategic funding available to RBHS. This includes but is not limited to: Allocation of resources to RBHS Units Tracking recruitments with these resources Metric collection for recruitments Invoicing and payment processing and reconciliation with RBHS Units Journal entry processing and reconciliation
Manages and produces financial detail needed to analyze RBHS clinical operations.
Understands and follows all affiliation agreements between Rutgers/RBHS and affiliates.
Models advanced recruitment scenarios for individual or multiple recruitments that requires a base knowledge of the processes and relationships of Rutgers University.
Coordinates the RBHS Clinical Incentive Program (CIP) and research incentive including calculations and payouts on an annual basis. Maintains faculty FTE/cFTE allocations across all of the clinical units of RBHS Calculates annual incentive payments for all faculty including understanding the productivity incentive metrics, value metrics, benchmark productivity guidelines and benchmark compensation Works with the Senior Vice Chancellor of Clinical Affairs and Senior Associate Deans of Clinical Affairs to understand and track value metrics to be performed by faculty Works with RBHS Units to ensure clear communication among faculty and RBHS leaders on the clinical incentive and research incentive programs Provides input to the Office of Academic Labor Relations regarding implementation of the CIP and research incentive programs.
Reviews, interprets, analyzes, implements and communicates RBHS initiatives to the RBHS Units.
Manages and assists in the development and supervision of staff and motivate staff to achieve peak productivity and performance.
Manages and performs ad-hoc financial analysis as required by the SVCFA and Assistant Vice Chancellor, Finance.
In the absence of the Assistant Vice Chancellor, Finance, provides the necessary support to the SVCFA for continuity of academic health affiliation operations.
Cross trains to perform duties outside of the academic health affiliation when needed.
Acts as fiscal representative of the Office of the SVCFA at various meetings upon request.
Contributes to the overall goals of the Office of Finance and Administration.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting
A minimum of five years experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or other relevant area.
Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong work ethic and ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Self-organized, flexible and able to manage multiple challenging projects simultaneously.

Excellent financial, analytic, written and verbal communication skills.
Master’s Degree or CPA and University accounting / financial experience.
Knowledge of Oracle financial systems.
