What will you be doing?
As mentioned above, Kingfisher operates more than 1,200 stores across Europe and owns properties worth more than £3bn. Across the Group there are more than 100 people who work to build, manage and maintain our properties. We are looking for a talented Financial Analyst to help support the Group Property team providing analytical support to maximise Global opportunities and clearly articulate the financial benefits and risks associated with each activity.
Your role will be to provide an operational link with the local property teams and central functions in order to facilitate timely, robust and accurate data flow between local operating companies and central property team, particularly on Long Term Plan and Business Performance.
Some of your key responsibilities will be to lead the annual review on store maintenance (annual spend of c£80m) working cross-functionally with OpCo's, Group Purchasing and Group Property to benchmark approaches and costs. Informing on capital allocation and opportunities for cross learning. You will hold ownership of the Kingfisher Property Database (KPD) including providing continuous improvements for this property management tool, including leading changes required to comply with IFRS 16 lease accounting changes (worth c£3bn on Kingfisher's Balance Sheet).
You will also hold ownership of monthly reporting to Group Executive on the performance of the latest store initiatives and analyse impact of store action plans, whilst supporting monthly accounts and forecasting process reviewing property capital expenditure - expansion, maintenance & energy initiatives. In addition, leading the budget review process for head office occupancy costs allocation across the Kingfisher.
You will lead the Post Investment Review (PIR) process detailing how recent projects with significant capital expenditure (covering over £600m capex) have performed as part of a One KFG annual review. The key lessons and recommendations will then be presented to the Group Executive and the PLC Board. And act as the principle contact for our external valuers for the annual process for reporting the market value of our owned properties (worth c£3bn) which is required for Year End disclosures
How will I be able to do this?
You will be a recently qualified accountant with intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel skills. You will have an exceptional attention to detail, with strong communication and interpersonal skills that will allow you to effectively influence senior stakeholders. Your approach to work will be flexible and adaptable with a willingness to travel on occasion.
