1. Monitors building and operational needs proactively, making recommendations or independently taking action, as appropriate. Evaluates department needs and determines the appropriate service response required. 2. Investigates and resolves building- and operations-related issues, working with internal and external contacts as needed. Maintains a high level of customer service, ensures that issues regarding building maintenance, custodial services, and safety are addressed and resolved. 3. Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures regarding building operations. Oversees activities related to equipment, building services, supplies, and shipping and receiving to ensure optimal departmental functioning. 4. Interacts with outside contacts to provide for maintenance services and repairs, obtaining information and price quotes as needed and ensuring delivery of services. Interacts with internal contacts to arrange for custodial and other services. Sets policies and procedures related to departmental use of shared spaces. 5. Serves as liaison for a number of units with regard to financial/budget activity. Analyzes information and creates accurate and timely reports that add value to the management of the unit and department. Investigates and resolves issues related to financial activities. 6. Records financial transactions accurately. Performs forecasting and reconciliations. Navigates systems and reporting tools to independently resolve routine and non-routine issues and identify potential risks. 7. Recommends methods to improve practices, processes, and systems in financial and building operations arenas. Works with internal and external contacts to carry out department objectives. Provides a high level of service that cultivates and maintains strong working relationships and effectively communicates information. Takes ownership and accountability for timeliness, accuracy and relationship management. 8. Manages a staff of non-exempt employees, working with them to provide optimal services. 9. Performs other duties as assigned.
