NC State University seeks applications from exceptional individuals for the position of Assistant Dean, Finance & Administration for The Poole College of Management. The Assistant Dean for Finance & Administration reports to the Dean and will serve on the Dean's management team, Executive Committee and participate in overall planning and policy-making for the College. The position has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all finance and HR related activities in order for the College to accomplish its Mission. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, and risk. The position manages the College's finances with an overall focus on controlling costs and appropriately increasing revenues, while maintaining compliance with state regulations and generally accepted accounting principles. It develops, implements and evaluates management and spending policies for administrative charges, state appropriated funds, capital improvements, consulting services, property management, course registration fees, indirect funds, educational and technology fees, student accounts, distance education, overhead, trust, discretionary and endowments. It also serves as liaison with the University Budget Office, Controller's Office, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Contracts and Grants and other offices as needed. Minimum Experience/Education Master's degree and at least 8 years of progressive experience with financial oversight in a large/complex academic unit. Ideal candidates have demonstrated experience in staff management and leadership. MBA and CPA designation are highly desired, but not required.
