The Finance Associate’s basic function is to support the daily operation of LCN’s Finance Department, including: managing accounts payable; managing accounts receivables, balance sheet and bank account reconciliation and special projects. Other duties may be assigned to support the overall operation of the Finance Department and to facilitate segregation of duties and internal control.
This is a full-time position with hours Monday to Friday, between 9 am to 6 pm, with occasional evening or weekend hours.
Manage accounts payable function effectively
Maintain positive relationships with vendors, pay invoices in a timely manner, investigate discrepancies, and ensure that transactions are coded correctly before and after entering into the accounting system.
Provide a weekly AP aging report before checks are processed to the director of finance for review
Reconcile credit card statement activity, collect all receipts and supporting documentation before paying invoice. Ensure that credit card expenses are allocated in the accounting system according to the approved cost allocation plan.
Process employee reimbursement request
Process payroll twice a month
Manage accounts receivable function effectively,
Apply electronic and cash receipt payments correctly to open invoices in fund ez, ensure cash receipts are allocated and coded properly, ensure deposits are entered into the accounting system within 48 hours. Track billing verse’s actual receipt and investigate and resolve all discrepancies. Discrepancies should be reported to the director of finance.
Provide the director of finance with a cash flow balance report weekly
Complete bank reconciliations monthly
Completes all monthly and year end journal entries
Performs all balance sheet schedules and reconciliations
Assist the Senior Finance Associate and the Director of Finance with end of the month closing process.
Supports LCN’s annual independent A-133 audit
Support and manage fiscal audit/s
Supports LCN’s annual budgeting process
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 90 hours of college credit toward an Accounting degree
Fund Accounting/non-profit accounting desired
Excellent Excel skills (Excel test required)
Excellent organizational skills, time-management and detail oriented
Energetic self-starter with ability to work independently and in team settings
Excellent oral, interpersonal, written, communication and project management skills
Strong attention to detail, with analytical and problem solving skills
Strong ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks concurrently
Manage time effectively and work within stringent deadlines
Position at times requires additional hours
Exercise good judgment in safeguarding confidential or sensitive information
