The Director of Finance, Ambulatory Davidson County will report to the Vice President - Financial Planning, Budgeting & Analysis and Clinical Services. The position will be responsible for Ambulatory Operationsâ general accounting, financial consolidations and reporting, and accounting policies & procedures. Primary responsibilities of this position will be to establish and maintain integrated accounting systems, policies, and training across all operations and business units of Ambulatory Clinic Services in close coordination with the Executive Vice President, Adult Ambulatory Operations-Davidson Outpatient Clinics. The Director will be responsible for overseeing recurring financial reporting and analysis, statistical reporting, cost reporting and other GAAP and government regulations.
Financial Performance and Goal setting for ambulatory clinic services (lead for Patient Care Center (PCC) Financial managers).
Development and deployment of monthly analytical package to assess progress toward goals.
Clinic cost and revenue optimization assessment and advisement to operations and clinical department leadership.
Clinic cost center review and oversight of financial effectiveness.
Development and maintenance of corporate policies, procedures and standards for financial matters in the ambulatory setting.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Master's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration (preferred)
Five years of experience working in the health care environment preferably in a large research/teaching hospital
Background in Financial Planning & Analysis or Operations Finance
Management experience of at least three years is required.
Experience in financial and managerial reporting with GAAP, FASB and other internal standards.
Experience in Pro Forma modeling
Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
Advanced skills in data manipulation, modeling and analytics using Excel
Working knowledge of Business Objects and Hyperion/Smartview
Ability to perform well in a high-pressure environment meeting frequent deadlines.
Familiarity the Vanderbilt University Medical Center business systems is preferred.
