UW Medicine Finance has an outstanding opportunity for a Payroll Data Analyst, UW Medicine Finance Business Systems. Reporting to the UW Medicine (UWM) Director of Finance Business Systems, the UWM Payroll Data Analyst provides primary support to the UW Medicine Payroll team, and secondarily to the Accounting and Finance teams. In collaboration with UW Medicine Payroll, UW Medicine Accounting, UW Medicine Finance and UW Medicine IT staff, this individual performs data analysis and delivers datasets from the payroll and financial systems used within UW Medicine.This person is responsible for providing scheduled reports, interfaces and ad-hoc query results to customers throughout the UW Medicine organization. In addition, this individual participates in committees, work groups and other activities associated with improving the quality and efficiency of business processes, data stores, and data integrations through standardization and automation. This individual works with data from various sources, including, but not limited to, the Kronos timekeeping system, the Workday payroll system, FASTRANS, ODS, the UW Enterprise Data Warehouse and the UW Medicine Payroll Subledger. Further, this person is directly involved in the support of applications built or installed by the Finance Business Systems group, including but not limited to the McKesson suite of ERP applications, and the Payroll Subledger. This individual supports a number of other auxiliary applications, and is involved in the analysis, design, and development of custom applications and reporting solutions, managing information systems projects following enterprise processes.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Report and dataset development - Soliciting customer requirements, developing specifications, programming SQL to create data extracts, creating reports and datasets to meet customer specifications.System Analysis - Reviewing needs of customers, participating with operational owners in selection of systems or solutions, analyzing infrastructure requirements to support selected systems, design of infrastructure specifics, improving efficiency and quality of business processes through automation of manual tasks. System Administration - Support of existing payroll and accounting reports and systems, support of interfaces and integration between multiple systems, ensuring backups, responding to failures in infrastructure.User Support - Fielding all types of ad hoc requests from users and triaging. This includes creation of ad hoc data extracts, application support, workstation support, reporting needs, analysis of more complex issues, and training.Administration - Manage task lists, project status, timekeeping, attend meetings with management, and perform other administrative tasks as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or related field AND four to five years of professional experience, preferably in computer science or business administration.
