Manage and oversee the budgeting process including effective communication, data entry, balancing of funds and developing summarized schedules.
Development of appropriate reporting tools, assumptions and risks analysis.
Working knowledge of internal subsidiary systems that drives financial activities.
Provide budget aging assumptions and variance analysis on a monthly basis.
Assist Director in setting health center vision for strong budget monitoring.
Work in partnership with director to build forecast models and projections.
Finance and Accounting (30%):
Prepare monthly financial report for the health center that includes a summary of monthly activity.
Prepare all quarterly and annual MNCARE tax reports.
Organize and oversee general ledger activities each month.
Analyze financial results and recommend corrective actions to address adverse performance.
Pursue opportunities to build partnerships with internal department leaders.
Delegate functions as necessary to accomplish health center objectives.
Monitor and make changes as necessary to EFS users and approvers.
Key member in setting up general ledger accounts and chart of accounts maintenance.
Ensure internal controls and systems are effective and efficient.
Assist Director in coordinating external and internal financial audits including serving as the liaison between Boynton departments and the Budget Office, internal (university) auditors, update year-end procedures and review financial statements, analyses, schedules, and reports.
Supervise professional accounting and finance staff in collaboration with the Director; assist with oversight of the patient accounting department
Coaching and mentoring to develop existing finance staff.
Participate in leadership and employee engagement activities.
Proactive in navigating University systems to develop Ad hoc reports for enhanced financial reporting.
Ability to present financial information to internal and external groups as needed.
Special Projects and other duties as assigned (10%):
Serve on Boynton Health committees
Lead special projects regarding accounting system improvements and service delivery to internal and external customers.
Minimum Qualifications required to perform job:
Bachelor's degree with at least five (5) years of professional accounting experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal nine (9) years.
Supervision experience of professional accounting staff.
Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheets, database queries, and other PC-based analytical tools.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field plus five (5) years of professional finance experience.
Five (5) years of accounting and reporting experience that demonstrates a substantial knowledge of the entire accounting and reporting cycle.
Healthcare financial experience.
Bachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting
