Carnegie Mellon University's Finance division is searching for a Manager of Financial Reporting. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will be a key leader in the development, review and maintenance effort of financial accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure timely, accurate and effective financial reporting by the University.
Core responsibilities will include:
Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and reporting process.
Responsible for key aspects of the financial statement preparation including footnote preparation and interfacing with external auditors relative to the year-end financial statement audit.
Responsible for analysis and reconciliation of key accounts to ensure accurate financial statements (e.g. cash, benefit related accounts, tuition revenue and general accruals).
Oversee initial set-up of grants and internal awards in the Oracle grants management system and ensure adherence to relevant University policies and procedures.
Serve as a subject matter expert in accounting and financial systems for the University community.
Assist in the development of policies and procedures relative to financial reporting and closing. Identify and implement process improvements int he close process including enhancing the use of information technology systems to streamline the closing and reporting process.
Responsible for managing and mentoring two accounting analysts and one accounting associate.

Master's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field highly desired; combination of education, experience, and training will be considered.
Minimum ten years' experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, or accounting required. Progressive responsibility, leadership and management experience highly desired.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)required.
