This position is in the Department of Continuing Medical Education. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Position is responsible for performing accounting, budgeting and financial reporting functions for the Continuing Medical Education department. Position also assists with administration of the department along with the director.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and enter annual budget, in conjunction with the department director and Associate Dean.� Analyze budget and report the department financial status to Associate Dean and University finance. Calculate and prepare year-end accruals and deferrals.� Maintain financial records according to University policy.
Prepare budgets for individual live CME activities.� Track revenue and expense by type, event, source, and member organization for CME.� In cooperation with program coordinators, monitor expenditures and completion of program within budget. Prepare close-out reports of all activities.
Process income and expenses for the CME department. Approve on-line expenses, including purchase orders, check requests, blanket orders, interdepartmental orders, budget adjustments, journals, travel expenses, and receipt vouchers, ensuring consistent accounting practices.
Administer grant processes for the CME department per University policy, develop activity budgets, interpret grant guidelines, policies and regulations, ensure appropriateness of expenditures, and ensure completion of grant reconciliation.
Process non-CME education grants for the medical school, which includes reviewing grant letters of agreement for appropriateness and use of funding, depositing funds, approving expenditures, and working with other department personnel to ensure that reconciliations are complete when required.���������������������������������
Assist director with department administration, including processing biweekly and monthly payroll for CME.� Process all honoraria in connection with CME events.� Assist director with human resource recruiting function by posting open positions to hiring system and coordinating administrative details for new hires, including employee orientation and training.
Participate in the development and implementation of CME department policies and procedures as they relate to ACCME criteria, University policy, and compliance with funding agencies.
Equivalent of Bachelor’s Degree with more than 5 years of experience in management/financial experience or related field.
Bachelor degree in accounting or finance.
Experience with Washington University financial systems, including AIS, HRMS, Web Focus, and Cognos.�
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to problem solve and prioritize.
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Working knowledge of finance and accounting principles and experience with grant administration.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to work effectively with broad range of faculty and members of medical school administration.
Knowledge and understanding of Access databases.
Working knowledge of University compliance regulations.
The hiring range for this position is $50,294 - $65,374 annually.
