Perform a wide range of administrative duties for the Harvard Graduate School of Education's (HGSE) Finance Office, including but not limited to assisting the Payroll and Accounts Payable teams along with other administrative activities related to the operations of Finance Office as needed. This position will also serve as Front Desk Receptionist for the Finance Office. The incumbent will work and communicate with a wide range of customers, including faculty, staff and students to foster and maintain positive and effective working relationships and provide professional customer service.
Serves as first point of contact for visitors in a professional manner and direct them to their destinations.
Provides information in person, on the telephone and via email inquiries regarding any payroll issues with positive and discrete manner.
Other duties include assisting in some payroll functions as directed by the Payroll Coordinators – including hiring and time sheet entries, payroll reconciliation, creating and maintaining confidential files, plus filing and scanning of all payroll related documents.
Assist in tracking and monitoring electronic approvals for all documents require various funding approvals.
Assist the management of work-study component of the temporary payroll in association with Financial Aid Office including monitoring work-study ceiling spending.
Daily delivery of documents to Central Offices – Payroll, Accounts Payable and/or Cash Management.
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the smoother operation of the Finance Office and assist other members of Finance staff on special projects as required.
This is a one year term appointment with possibility for renewal.

High School graduate required; 1-2 years related experience in a finance/customer service function. Experience with MS Excel.
