Appalachian State University Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance Finance Faculty Position
Position: The Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance invites applications for a tenure-track position as assistant professor of finance to begin August, 2019. Teaching needs may include Corporate Finance, International Finance and Financial Markets.
Department: The Department of Finance, Banking and Insurance includes 18 full-time finance, insurance, and law faculty serving approximately 350 undergraduate majors. The department also provides classes for the MBA and other graduate programs.
University: Appalachian State University, located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, is one of 16 universities in the University of North Carolina system. The university has been ranked consistently by US News and World Report as one of the top 15 among southern regional universities. There are approximately 19,000 students, primarily in bachelors and masters programs in both liberal arts and applied fields. Application Procedure: Qualifications for the position include the following: • a Ph.D. in finance from an AACSB accredited institution by the start of employment; • a record of high quality teaching; • the ability to produce quality research and publications; • strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Applicants must submit a letter of interest, curriculum vita, the names and contact information for three references, summary of teaching evaluations, and a research sample. The review of complete applications will begin on August 15th and will continue until October 3rd. Initial interviews will be conducted at the Financial Management Association conference in October 2018.
