The Director of Accounting and Finance is responsible for directing the fiscal functions in accordance with accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in adherence to financial management techniques suitable for the industry.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for directly overseeing the overall accounting functions of the firm and the supervision of all employees in the accounting and finance department.
Planning, developing, implementing, directing and evaluating the firm's fiscal functions and performance.
Developing credibility for the accounting/finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, accounting/financial reports and financial trends in order to support the CEO/President, and other senior officers in performing their essential job functions.
Providing technical accounting/financial advice and knowledge to others within the accounting discipline.
Enhancing and/or developing, implementing and enforcing policies and procedures of the firm by way of systems that will improve the overall accounting operation and effectiveness of the company.
Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of 15 years of Accounting/Finance Management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Master in Business Administration (Finance Concentration) preferred.
Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local tax accounting rules and regulations.
