Advertised Summary Job Description: BASIC FUNCTION: Reporting to the Executive Director, Columbia College Finance the Associate Director contributes to the management and execution of Columbia College's operating budget by providing a wide range of fiscal and technical support in a manner consistent with ensuring the highest level of service. The incumbent works closely with the Executive Director to support the College's overall financial operations. In addition, the Associate Director is designated to oversee the financial administration for a specific unit or set of financial activities within the College. In line with the Columbia College finance team values, the incumbent will possess strong customer service skills and a proactive approach, keep abreast of the latest policies and procedures, and promote accountability of administrative and financial activities with University and College specific policies and processes.
General Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and/or the equivalent required. Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience required.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, and have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must be a self-starter and capable of operating with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with a strong customer service focus essential. Ability to work closely and effectively with a diverse group of administrators. Ability to exercise discretion and handle confidential information essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required, especially Excel. Demonstrated ability to compile, manipulate, and analyze data and present financial data to end-users in a useful manner.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong preference for related financial analysis or operations experience in higher education, non-profit, and/or complex organization. Demonstrated experience in advanced pivot reporting preferred. Knowledge of the PeopleSoft Financials or a similar type financial management application preferred.
