While serving a growing community, the successful candidate will perform a variety of financial services that support Guilford County’s mission to provide efficient, effective, responsive government that meets the public’s needs and improves our community. The employee will serve as Assistant Director and staff supervisor of the County Finance Department, directing and coordinating the work of Managers, Accountants, Accounting Technicians, and support personnel in the continual monitoring and review of county financial status.
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in accounting and four years of experience in the planning and management of fiscal activities and accounting systems including two years of supervisory experience. CPA required. Preferred: Supervisory experience in a local government accounting environment with broad range of operational responsibilities. Managerial experience in government accounting operations requiring compliance with North Carolina General Statutes. Certified Public Finance Officer or North Carolina Certified Local Government Finance Officer credentials.
