<p>This position serves as a financial analyst for the A.L.R.T. Administrative Center in the University of Minnesota Medical School. The position works across several large, complex organizations, including the University of Minnesota, UMPhysicians, University Anesthesia Providers, and Fairview Health Services. The position’s primary focus will be with the Department of Anesthesia, but will assist with the below duties in other departments within ALRT. This position directly reports to A.L.R.T Administrative Center Finance Director with secondary reporting to the Anesthesiology Department Administrator.</p><p><u>Duties include:</u></p><p>Finance</p><ul><li>Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial results for the department’s clinical activities and their sub-specialties.</li></ul><ul><li>Ensures compliance with University and UMP finance policies.</li><li>Present financial results to leadership and identify risks/opportunities based on final month end report and future month forecasts.</li><li>Works with the business intelligence team to develop internal resources (reporting dashboards) that will assist in overall business/clinical operation measurements.</li><li>Prepare operational metrics and develop financial forecasting models and projections</li></ul><p>Physician Compensation</p><ul><li>Responsible for the oversight and implementation of physician compensation including compensation modeling, planning, and timely calculation of variable incentive payments</li><li>Manages individual physician compensation files which include tracking, updating and reporting on clinical commitments, vacation balances and academic time</li><li>Works to ensure Clinical Incentive Payout plan is accurately calculated and paid timely.</li><li>Works closely with Medical Schools (A.L.R.T.) administrative staff on documentation, recommendations, and implementation of compensation payments</li><li>Acts as the point of contact to physicians on their compensation. Clarifies questions and thoroughly understands calculations.</li></ul><p>Contracts</p><ul><li>Acts as the key contact and subject matter expert for all provider contract-related activities. This includes developing and negotiating contract terms, compliance, modifications and amendments, penalties and incentives</li><li>Maintains a continuing review of the status of each contract from idea creation to signed contract, and provides management with information regarding any financial, legal or technical difficulties</li><li>Analyzes and evaluates change to drive continuous improvement in the process of contract management</li></ul>
<p><strong><u>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p><ul><li>Requires Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with at least 8 years of related financial experience</li><li>Excellent analytical, operations, and communication skills. </li><li>Demonstrated collaboration skills applied across different legal organizations and operating structures. Ability to balance creating and implementing strategies while maintaining operational excellence in core services.</li><li>Excellent technical skills with high proficiency in analytical application of relevant computer software packages including Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Access)</li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><strong><u>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p><ul><li>Master’s degree in Business Administration or Health Administration</li><li>Contract management</li><li>Candidate should have experience dealing with multiple healthcare provider types, including hospitals, physicians, ancillary providers, and vendors</li><li>Experience managing compensation and/or payroll</li><li>Experience in short-term and long-term financial business planning and contracting. Previous provider or payer contracting experience</li><li>Experience in a health care, especially academic medicine in a hospital-based department</li><li>Experience with the practice of anesthesia</li><li>Experience with medical billing practice data (RVU's, CPT codes, etc.)</li></ul>
