Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Fiscal Operations (EDFO), the ODC Finance Director (OFD), will provide fiscal oversight for all operations of the Orphan Disease Center (ODC). Manage the daily fiscal operations and accounting activities, including (but not limited to) budget management, accounting, purchasing, travel, gift funding, sponsored programs, endowment funding, and philanthropic event cost management. The OFD is responsible for the strategic oversight of all financial management and will play a major role in providing financial, analytical, and strategic development for the ODC, preparing and monitoring of total annual operating budget including gifts, sponsored programs, and endowments; direction/oversight of all pre-and-post-award activities; developing and implementing fiscal functions to ensure compliance. The OFD will participate in strategic planning sessions on a regular basis with the EDFO, faculty, and senior administrative staff; analyze data and prepare budget projections and forecasts; revise budgets as needed; perform monthly account reconciliations using multiple tools and data sources. The OFD will also interact/partner with the U Penn Development office to track and reconcile gifts. The OFD will provide oversight of ODC’s grants management program and will directly manage/supervisor the ODC’s Grants Manager.
