The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Business & Finance Coordinator. The Business & Finance Coordinator will assist in the management of the daily operations of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) Business & Finance Office. Major responsibilities include all procurement activities: BruinBuy data entry of orders, reimbursements, invoices, check requests, and Express system data entry for entertainment reimbursements. This position will interact directly with DIA staff and coaches, along with University offices such as Accounts Payable and Travel Accounting to ensure that all department and University policies and procedures are met efficiently and effectively. This position will also interact with vendors in response to queries regarding status of invoices/payments. Utilize the Document Management System for accounting, assist in fiscal year-end closing, auditing, reporting, and other necessary department financial operations and projects. Other duties as assigned by and in conjunction with the Associate Director, Business & Finance, Director of Business & Finance, and Sr. Associate Athletic Director / CFO.

All applicants should demonstrate the following abilities and requirements: Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in accounting and/or four years’ experience in lieu of a degree; working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and their practical application, including Fund Accounting; experience with and ability to comply with University, PAC-12, and NCAA rules and regulations; knowledge of University accounting practices and procedures, University purchasing policies and procedures, and the University Financial System; ability to work in a fast paced, multi layered business organization with a variety of constituents and colleagues both in the department, on campus, and outside the organization; comprehension of tax laws and taxable income; awareness of University Foundation relationship and communication between organizations; strong aptitude in using various software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access; demonstrated ability to perform duties with great degree of accuracy, meeting deadlines, working efficiently under conditions of frequent interruptions and fluctuating workload; capability to work independently and prioritize assignments in a manner accurately reflecting the relative importance of job responsibilities without constant supervision; ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and collaborate with other staff members and administrators; incumbent must be able to effectively communicate and work cooperatively with other University departments in a complex administrative environment; incumbent must be trained in managing and organizing personnel, equipment, and material resources in order to provide the most efficient working environment; ability to analyze situations and systems, identify problems, and implement solutions impartially, consistently, and fairly; understanding of when to make decisions on immediate problems within prescribed scope of authority, based on knowledge of policies and procedures, including pertinent NCAA rules and regulations; general knowledge of financial and personnel policies, principles, and procedures in a central administrative University setting, as well as, general management principles; and demonstrated writing skills to complete concise, effective and grammatically correct administrative reports, policy statements, procedures and correspondence.
