Reporting to the Associate Director, Finance Business Intelligence, this position is responsible for the development of complex new business intelligence solutions, content creation, and value propositions using institutionally designated approaches and technologies. Specific responsibilities will include consulting with customers and end users to understand specific business requirements, translating business needs into analytic / reporting requirements, providing resource estimates / benefits analysis for proposed work, and interfacing with VUIT BI Development team and business owners to ensure successful delivery of BI reporting solutions and serve as a project leader for complex projects. The individual filling this role will have previous experience with business intelligence and dashboard development, as either an analyst or developer, and will ideally have a detailed understanding of the various VUMC source data systems.
Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
Excellent communication in both written and oral
Experience using data warehouse or analytical tools for business purposes; ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements; knowledge of key data warehousing processes; strong conceptual, technical, business, and communication skills
"Big Picture" thinking--experience working outside of the silo
Cross-functional experience - working on projects with both business owners and IT to accomplish a shared goal
Technical Skills: SQL, Advanced Excel, Tableau, Business Objects, or experience with other relevant analytic reporting tools
