Work closely with our Data Architect and help us deliver best of breed data solutions - you will have a passion for data modelling, bring best practice principles to the roles, and will use your experience to make key recommendations on the modelling methodologies applied to our central data store.
Corporate & Asset Finance (CAF) has a number of application platforms to support the Group's varied lending and leasing activities and is embarking upon an Information Management program to enable high quality data analytics and insights to meet both regulatory / bank needs, as well as to offer value-add insights to our clients.
Key to this is the creation of a group data store, based upon Hadoop technology, and offering the ability to aggregate and manage data from a variety of sources.
We'll ask you to:
work closely with Data Architect to implement end-to-end data solution for business
advise and implement best practice data modelling and consumption standards
write and refine advance SQL queries
conduct and coordinate testing on ETL, queries, view, and reports from deployment to production
be involved in project initiatives to ensure alignment to Information Management Principles
You'll need the following technical skills:
complex SQL querying
understanding of data modelling principles and data warehouse methodologies (Kimball and Inman)
experience with database design (Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models)
implementation of data warehousing and business intelligence platforms
data analysis and mining
data cleaning techniques and implementation
semantic layer design / logical modelling
working knowledge of Hadoop & MapReduce
With the additional skills being advantageous:
experience using other querying languages such as Hive and Pig
SAP Business Objects (BOE) v4.x, Webi, CMC
We'll also expect you to have the following soft skills:
experience working in central data team (relational database concepts, appreciation of strong governance framework)
strong analytic skills with the ability to write quality use cases
ability to translate business requirements to technical requirements
ability to translate high level design into specific implementation steps
experience working in an Agile team
strong communication skills
strong problem solving
