Advertised Summary Job Description: Under the direction of the Senior Financial Manager, the Finance Budget Analyst will assist in the design and implementation complex financial reporting tools, business plans, and management reports using best practice applications, tools and processes for a large academic department. Assist with annual budget process and with recurring fiscal transactions, including periodic intradepartmental funds flow transactions. Assist with development of complex ad hoc financial reports for senior management decision making at the department level.
Duties and responsibilities include:
*Support the design and implementation of complex financial reporting to support decision making for middle and senior management with particular emphasis on advanced use of excel. *Prepare intra-department AIMHI cost allocation and ensure accurate implementation of approved distributions. *Support the monthly and quarterly current estimate variance analyses. *Support the reporting process for the NYPH Joint Budget. *Prepare complex monthly financial reports at the division and department level. *Monitor core administration budgets and central funds. *Assist with the closing process at month end, quarter end and year end
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including variance analysis, financial statement analysis, and statistics. Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral skills, and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management. Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Word and Excel) and a demonstrated ability to prepare reports, summaries and analyses, along with the ability to collect and analyze data and evaluate information, required. The successful candidate must be a strategic thinker, with an open and collaborative style that encourages teamwork and cooperation. A passion for excellent customer service and commitment to exceptional quality is required.
