Summary This position is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the accounting, finance, and financial reporting requirements of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares the recording of accounting transactions including vendor invoice review, vouchering and payment, deposits and cash receipts, recurring and one-time journal entries, and invoice preparation.
Administers financial reporting system.
Prepares and coordinates external audits that are required by contracts and regulatory bodies.
Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Prepares specialized program cost reports.
Prepares corporate and program/departmental budgets.
Maintains and reports information relative to Contract, Grant, and Regulatory compliance.
Provides technical assistance on accounting, finance, and budgeting matters to management staff.
Conducts analysis and communicates recommendations to management staff regarding costs, revenue and program financial performance.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited college or university; and five to seven years of related experience and/or training; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
5 years accounting and financial reporting management experience.
Certified Public Accountant, preferred
Public Accounting experience, preferred
Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral)
Ability to work with a diverse population.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, and prepare correspondence, and memos.
Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed (evening/weekend hours).
Knowledge of computers, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the Internet.
