Position Summary: The position supports the Director of Finance with certain financial functions including supporting the annual audit process, conducting financial analyses, collection and analysis of benchmark data, and accounting tasks as assigned. The position is primarily responsible for support of Business Office business systems, and redesign business processes of the University by leveraging technology with the dual objective of increasing overall efficiency and enhancing services available to students, faculty, staff and other constituents
Responsible for primary accounting for Federal Loan Programs
Provide financial accounting support including support of the annual audit process
Assist the Director in multiple components of Investment Accounting
Maintain and update Student Accounts billing for all programs, room and board, and perform manual billing as needed
Provide primary support for Account Receivables including billing and cashiering irregularities, payment plans, deposit maintenance and payment processor or system errors
Provide training and troubleshooting support for purchase card system
Monitor electronic payment compliance for all departments
Ensure compliance with IRS in areas of Affordable Care Act and Education Tax Credits
Provide data analysis for various departments including Academic Affairs, Residence Life and Housing, Admissions, Business Office, Human Resources, and Student Administrative Services
Improve services to students, faculty and staff by increasing efficiencies and facilitating collaboration among the above departments
Liaise between IT and several departments on campus for new process design and ongoing support
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance and/or Accounting, a Master’s degree is a plus.
3 years of financial management, data analysis, and/or Higher Education experience.
Good interpersonal and communications skills are also necessary as the candidate will need to work closely with individuals in many other departments
Well-developed sense of attention to detail, be highly numeric and able to work independently
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases needed
