Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Associate Athletic Director for Finance, Administration, and Planning for The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Senior Associate Athletic Director for Finance, Administration, and Planning will report to the Director of Athletics with dotted line reporting to the Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Develops a long-term strategic financial plan for the department that addresses its operation budget, reserves, anticipated gifts and endowments, debt service and future capital needs.
Reviews and makes recommendations on departmental business agreements and contracts from a financial perspective and assists in negotiations as required such as employee contracts, game guarantees and conference contracts, stadium and arena contracts, corporate sponsor agreements and football bowl agreements.
Oversees the financial management of the Department.
Ensures accurate and timely processing of financial transactions including payment of vendors.
Develops and adheres to budgetary policies and procedures.
Serves as the main contact/liaison with procurement on contractual negotiations including preparation of RFP's.
Oversees employee recruitment, appointment, compensation, and evaluation processes, Collaborate with University HR to create and implement approaches for Talent Development of DIA staff.
Devises and builds data products to aid in reviewing performance measures and tracking of goals for short-and long-term strategies. Synthesizes information and disseminates results through written reports, maps, charts, graphs and presentation using the best practices of effective communication and persuasive data visualization.
Oversees the creation and maintenance of predictive models to generate leads for the ticket servicing, digital, and development teams.
Responsible for the integrity and security of the entire computer network connecting all physical locations and all file servers throughout the DIA facilities on campus.
Works in partnership with the University's OIT team on appropriate projects.
Manages and sets policy regarding the use of personal computers, laptops, cell phones, tablets, and email, and insure that internal policy is in compliance with University policy.
Home Location Campus: Livingston (RU-New Brunswick)
Master's or law degree preferred.
Preferred to have experience in athletic facility financial planning and/or capital project planning and execution.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of accounting policies, standards, and procedures, cost analysis techniques, ability to develop financial plans and manage resources, and knowledge of accounts receivable procedures and practices are also required.
Required to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
An in-depth knowledge of University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA rules and regulations related to the financial administration of the intercollegiate athletics program is highly preferred.
A candidate with a broad view and understanding of the complexities of athletic, academic and campus life issues.
