The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking applications for the position of Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance (R99979). The Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance is responsible for the administration of the university’s financial operations. This position reports directly to the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: providing direct supervision and oversight of all business and financial services functions, including general accounting, financial services, accounts payable, financial reporting, payroll, banking and cash management, procurement, and bursar; preparing numerous fiscal reports and analyses for both internal management and external officials; providing strategic leadership and vision for the finance division using excellent programs, initiatives and partnering, and ensuring collaboration, communication, and engagement in finance initiatives; and assisting legislative auditors with the annual audit of the university and ensuring proper internal controls are in place to protect university assets.
This position requires an individual who has a thorough understanding of higher education administration; demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direction to diverse groups of individuals; exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with academic leaders, faculty, staff, and students; strong time management, organizational, and planning skills; the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituents; excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to relate personably to a broad range of university constituents; and the ability to employ discretion and good judgment in decision making.
Minimum Qualifications: A master’s degree in business, accounting, or finance from an accredited college or university and a minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in accounting or financial management in progressively responsible positions.
Preferred Qualifications: A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate and experience in a higher education setting with Ellucian Banner System.
