Hagerstown Community College is pleased to announce that applications are currently being accepted for a Vice President, Administration and Finance position.
The Vice President, Administration and Finance serves as the chief fiscal officer for the College and directs major administrative functions in areas that include financial services, capital improvement financial planning, annual planning and budget development, procurement operations, digital printing and design services, and selected auxiliary enterprises. This position, which reports directly to the President, is responsible for implementing policies and procedures that strengthen the overall operations and effectiveness of the College. This position also serves as a member of the President's Cabinet and as financial advisor to the President and regularly provides financial reports to the Board of Trustees and is involved in policy development. Other responsibilities include insurance and risk management, providing annual budget and capital support requests to Washington County Government, strategic planning and long-range financial projections, cost-benefit analysis of programs and services, and grant development and management.

Education and experience- Master's degree in business administration, accounting, or related field from an accredited college or university required; also, minimum eight years (five as supervisor) of demonstrated, successful, progressively responsible experience preferably related to the fiscal management of an educational organization; significant knowledge of computer applications required. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in public higher education settings.
Skills and abilities - strong management, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills; an excellent record of leadership in policy formation, including planning, assessment, project accounting, grant and general administration; demonstrated expertise in the development and implementation of strategic financial plans; effective written and oral communication skills; strong working knowledge of financial and information technologies; and ability to work effectively with internal and external constituencies.
