Financial Analyst II - FRI/FHMG/GME Finance - Maitland Florida Hospital Maitland seeks to hire Financial Analyst II who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ. Facility Profile: Established in 1908, Florida Hospital is one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in the country, caring for more than a million patients each year. The Maitland Office Plaza houses our highly skilled teams that support our hospital system including Marketing, Patient Financial Services, Revenue Management, the Credit Union and Human Resources. The main lobby is filled with lush greenery and a light trickle of water, creating a holistic environment. . Department Profile: FHMG/FRI/GME FINANCE is located in the Maitland Westhall building. This department provides accounting and finance services to FHMG, FRi and GME sites/physician offices. Full accounting services include financial statement preparation, accounts payable, tax preparation, plus a wide variety of financial analysis. This team provides financial information to the leaders of FHMG, FRi and GME in making financial decisions that impact each entity. . Work Hours/Shifts: Mon – Fri / 8:00a.m. – 5p.m. Job Summary: The Financial Analyst is responsible for all aspects of month end close and financial statement analysis. Also prepares reconciliations for specific general ledger accounts. Research and detailed analysis are an integral part of this positoin. Additionally, extensive oral and written communication skills and the ability to train other key personnel are essential. Actively participate in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.. Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required: B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. . Needs to have a complete understanding of double entry accounting and needs an operational understanding of routine accounting functions. Ability to handle a large number of tasks and projects at one time. Needs a working knowledge of personal computer applications and spreadsheet analysis. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required: N/A Job Responsibilities: Demonstrates through behavior Florida Hospital's Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork as outlined in the organization's Performance Excellence Program Review preliminary financial statements (prior to submitting to Management) for validity. Follow-up with appropriate personnel on any unusual items. Answer any accounting type questions for Management. Prepare month-end journal entries and various monthly statements which may include contribution margin reports, break even analysis, productivity reports, CPV analysis, ancillary reporting, etc. Analyze various general ledger accounts. This would include keeping detailed spreadsheets of the account and verifying that accounts were properly stated. Perform monthly reconciliations (cash, accounts receivable, fixed assets, bad debt, contractual, etc.) Prepare accompanying spreadsheets for the center location financial statements including special financial analysis projects and proformas Monitor internal controls. Also, perform mini-audits on an annual basis. Prepare yearly budget templates and assist Management with completion of budgets. Duties may include: developing and maintaining access database used for financial reporting and individual productivity analysis, attending monthly operations/improvement meetings, fixed asset reporting, tangible tax reporting, federal tax reporting (8680), unclaimed funds filing, maintaining internal web page, entering capital requisitions, approving AP batches ,first look reporting, and special projects as requested.
