This is highly responsible professional and administrative work assisting the Director of the Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department in planning and directing the finance and administration functions of the county's Water Utilities Department. Responsible for assisting in planning and directing finance and administration programs which will insure the integrity of accounting transactions and the reliability of the department's financial, budgetary and management systems. Assists in responding to stakeholders, customers and developers regarding policy issues in the areas of Administration, Finance/Accounting, Procurement/Contracts Management and Customer Service. Administers progressive discipline; recommends the hiring, termination and promotion of staff, prepares performance evaluations. Responsible for the complete finance, accounting and administrative activities of the Department.

THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration; minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible high-level public/private financial, managerial, and administrative experience.
PREFERENCE FOR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: In government finance administration that includes two (2) years of Capital Improvement budget experience at $30M or more annually; serving as part of a financial team responsible for securing long-term debt (must specify on application); working for a large government. Also desirable: Member in good standing of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
