The Career Center at Vanderbilt University has an opening for an Employer Relations Specialist who will function as a key member of the Employer Relations team responsible for raising the profile, number and quality of job and internship opportunities for undergraduate students at Vanderbilt University. This position will specialize in business/finance career fields, including but not limited to banking, investments, insurance, and financial and management consulting. Recruiting Event/Activities Management: Manage ongoing activities of the recruiting program including hosting on-campus recruiters, coordinating career fairs, information sessions, niche recruiting events, and other recruiting-related activities. Post employer information and job descriptions. Maintain and improve the employer database/information, utilizing/managing the Symplicity (DoreWays) recruiting system. Enhance the employer hosting program ensuring employers a quality experience while visiting with the Career Center Employer and Opportunity Outreach and Sourcing: Research online resources to find potential new contacts and career/internship opportunities. Network and connect with potential employers, internship sites, alumni, and other contacts to increase student employment opportunities. Conduct employer development activities (on-site visits) with targeted organizations and industries including outreach with Chamber of Commerce, trade associations, search firms, and employment agencies to raise the profile, number and quality of jobs for students. Develop and provide recruiting information to coaching team and students: Work with the Career Education and Coaching team to develop appropriate programming, services, and guidelines to ensure that students who participate in recruiting programs are well-prepared for the job search process. Coordinate/facilitate programs, presentations & workshops to enhance and increase the visibility of students to employers and vice versa. Develop marketing/PR materials for students and employers. Data collection and management: Compile data and write reports focusing on employment trends and opportunities within specialization areas, and supply information and resources to students and coaching team. Collect, maintain, and present recruiting and placement-related data as needed, including conducting need and satisfaction surveys among students and employers. Preferred skills and qualifications: Master's Degree preferred. Bachelor's degree in business, counseling, or a related field, and a minimum of one year in career Minimum of one year in career services, or a talent acquisition setting such as human resources, employment office, or recruiting agency, or a related area performing a variety of recruiting or career placement activities. Demonstrated experience developing a contact network and/or recruiting new employers or clients. Knowledge of the job market and the training students need to succeed in the interview process. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong administrative, organizational, problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated expertise in working with faculty, students, alumni, and employers. Knowledge and ability to utilize computer applications and databases. Understanding and appreciation for liberal arts degree as preparation for career. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.
