The Department of Finance at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Finance with appointment beginning in August 2017. The department seeks experts in all areas of Finance. CSUF values and is dedicated to the goal of building a diverse community. The successful candidate must demonstrate interest and ability to teach courses in Finance at lower-and-upper-division levels. Teaching responsibilities will include four courses per semester at the undergraduate and graduate levels and specialty courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Faculty members are expected to participate in one or more of the following support activities: committee service, curriculum development, academic advisement, assessment activities (including development of appropriate assessment measures).
- Candidates must have completed a Master’s degree in Finance or a related field from an accredited institution prior to the start date.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching is required.
- Business experience in a corporate finance environment is desirable.
- An MBA is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse range of students, faculty and staff is required.
- A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.
International experience is preferred

This is a full-time non tenure-track Lecturer position. Appointment is for one year and may be renewed for additional years, based on satisfactory performance and funds availability. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Finance department currently has 18 tenured and tenure-track faculty supplemented by multiple part-time and full-time adjunct faculty members. Tenure-track faculty members have published their research in journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Financial Management, the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Journal of Risk and Insurance, and Real Estate Economics, among others. The department houses two active centers of excellence – The Center for Insurance Studies and the Real Estate and Land Use Institute. These entities raise funds for extra-curricular student activities and provide opportunities for interaction with the local business community.
