Reporting to the Department Chair and to the Deputy Dean, Yale School of Medicine (YSM) Finance & Administration, and working in association with the Executive Director of the Yale New Haven Children's Hospital (YNHCH), the Director of Finance & Administration is the senior administrator with overall responsibility for the strategic planning, management, operations, business development, and implementation of clinical, educational and research programs for the Department.
The incumbent is responsible for managing an annual operating budget of over $86M ($33M clinical, $21M research, $25M YNHH and other Affiliated Hospitals, and over $7M in endowment, gift and current use funds), across 14 complex sub-specialty sections in an anchor Department with 430 faculty and non-faculty personnel within the School of Medicine.
Working closely with Yale Medical Group (YMG), YNHCH leadership and Department clinical leadership, the Director of Finance and Administration is responsible for the development, implementation and growth of quality clinical programs and world-class clinical operations. The incumbent is accountable for the planning, delivery and management of such high quality coordinated and innovative pediatric clinical services.

Demonstrated fiscal responsibility and comprehensive knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and analysis. Demonstrated experience with complex strategic planning and resource allocation. Demonstrated experience in managing relationships and influencing outcomes. Demonstrated creativity and effectiveness in a complex organization. Demonstrated success in developing people and organizations.
