HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. In the Controllers Department, our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm's business. Controllers also ensure that the firm's activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets.
PRODUCT CONTROL, COMMODITIES GROUP Product Controller opportunities covering the Asia Commodities business Responsibilities include reconciliation and analysis of desk level profit & loss, independent review of trader pricing, and various reporting requirements around the business level trading results. This position requires significant interaction with the trading desk due to the dynamic nature of the portfolio, complexity of the price verification process, and need to develop better tools to analyze P&L fluctuations. A key determinant of success will be the ability of the candidate to enhance the control structure and process flows over this developing process.
Prepare and undertake analytical review of the daily profit and loss.
Undertake independent valuation review to ensure complex instruments and strategies marked to market in an appropriate manner.
Undertake critical reviews of trading activity with the objective of highlighting significant items to senior management.
Assess the market, valuation and other risk inherent in trading positions.
Liaise with operations and other divisions within the bank in a problem solving capacity.
Various month end procedures including preparation of accounts for posting to the general ledger.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years of relevant work experience in product control or commodities trading
Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to clearly articulate ideas
Highly motivated and adaptable; the ability to work on a global team of diverse individuals
Proactive; the ability to respond creatively and quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure, changing environment
Accounting, Economics or Finance degree preferred
