Primary responsibilities of the Assistant/Associate/Professor of Finance and Business is to engage students in the College of Undergraduate Studies with a meaningful and effective teaching style. The faculty member may teach 100- through 500-level courses within the field of finance and general business. Courses taught may be a mix of any of the following fields: Finance, Business, and Economics. Other duties include assisting the Dean of the School of Business and Leadership (SBL) in program and course development. This faculty member will provide strategic thinking and participate in efforts to assist departmental colleagues and the Dean in various SBL goals and objectives. This faculty member will also collaboratively participate in assigned meetings and other duties as assigned. Faculty rank will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the finalist selected.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A terminal (doctoral level degree) in a related business field from an accredited college/university is preferred, master’s degree (preferably MBA) is required.
Three or more years of successful teaching experience in a college or university is preferred, with a proven track record of student learning and engagement through previous classroom evaluations by students or faculty administration.
Demonstrate superior oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Passionate about Christ-centered higher education and dedicated to the integration of faith and learning in the business fields. Deeply committed to student success.
Proficiency in appropriate Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to use appropriate software/technology such as a collegiate learning management system (LMS) in the learning environment.
Committed to learning new ideas for classroom presentations and dynamic class interactions to engage student learning in a meaningful way.
