The CFOO is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for the overall management of finance, human resources, information technology, facilities and major construction projects. The following are the expectations of this role:
Oversee an $11M operating budget, ensuring accurate and timely accounting and compliance with all laws and regulations
Lead the evaluation and updating of our supporting information systems
Build out the 5-10 year financial forecast.
Guide the Finance Committee on the philosophy and policy around reserves and endowment
Support the creation of the Risk Management framework
Support the development of the next Strategic Plan, and the update to the Master Plan
Support the continued development and growth of the HR function
Serve on a variety of Board committees and as a key member of the school senior leadership team
Bring Independent School Best Practices to bear in Finance and Operations
Build strategic partnerships with peer schools and other organizations
Serve as a leader and mentor across departments with regard to finance and operations
Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience as an independent school administrator, or equivalent
Spanish speaking preferred but not required.
CPA or other advanced degree preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; problem solving and critical thinking skills
Understanding of the challenges and issues facing independent schools in the Bay Area
Strong computer skills including above average competency in MS Office.
Demonstrated leadership qualities and organizational skills.
Self-starter with the ability to independently drive projects.
Calm demeanor when dealing with emergencies and other unexpected activities.

Escuela Bilingüe Internacional (EBI) is an independent co-educational dayschool located in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland of the San Francisco Bay Area. EBI is authorized by the International Baccalaureate to offer the Primary Years Programme. The school offers a Spanish-English dual language program, extending from pre-K through 8th grade. EBI opened its doors in September 2006, with preschool and kindergarten.
