TAB is recruiting a candidate to join our executive leadership team and oversee the financial affairs for our organization in Austin, TX.
Responsible for the general financial affairs, employment relations, and technology needs of the Association. Supervises receipts and disbursements of funds, including payroll. Prepares financial statements and reports, projections and administration of analyses of the Association’s financial matters. Interfaces with the Association’s Officers and Finance Committee.
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives • Oversee the operations of related entities • Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors • Monitor cash balances and initiate cash transfers between accounts to achieve the most efficient use of bank balances relative to bank fees, investment opportunities and disbursement requirements • Prepare budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions • Issue timely and complete monthly and quarterly financial statements • Generate and maintain semimonthly payroll activities and records • Supervise accounting staff • Responsible for helping to facilitate ethics filings for PACs • Serve as the association’s employee relations manager • Direct and participate in recruitment, placement, compensation, personnel policy design and other related personnel transactions • Manage and direct the association's IT requirements
• Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting • Minimum experience of five years, nonprofit experience preferred • Computer proficiency on spreadsheet, word processing and database maintenance (Experience with Abila's MIP Fund Accounting strongly preferred) • Strong organizational and leadership abilities • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
