The Vice President serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and management for all financial matters of the university in a manner consistent with the university mission and strategic plan.
The Vice President for Finance and Treasurer is responsible for the planning, management, and accountability of Anderson’s financial, physical, and human resources areas.
The ideal candidate will possess many of the following qualities, attributes, and experiences: superior understanding of finance and operations in institutions of higher education and broad familiarity with the terms of functioning of Church-related, not-for-profit institutions.; significant experience with fund accounting, financial systems and reporting, internal controls, and external audits; proven ability to oversee the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial projections; experience with institutional investments, cash management, and debt financing; and a knowledge of property management and facilities, including construction projects and sustainability initiatives.
Essential personal characteristics include integrity and a good strategic judgment; self-motivation, goal orientation and sensitivity to the needs of diverse constituencies; a high degree of initiative and creativity; an active, maturing Christian faith journey; and, a willingness to understand the relationship of Anderson University to its sponsoring organization, the Church of God, Anderson IN. A baccalaureate degree is required; advanced degrees and/or other professional certifications such as CPA are strongly preferred. Comparable comprehensive experience at the senior executive level in other organizations will strengthen the application.
