Supervises the Accounting Department and Information Technology staff.
Responsible to the CEO for directing the financial and business affairs of the organization in an efficient and economical manner.
Responsible for keeping the CEO informed on the financial climate affecting operation of the organization.
Responsible for establishing a set of financial and management controls to adhere to the policies and procedures of the facility.
Responsible for coordinating the preparation of the annual budget of the organization.
Prepares periodic and ad hoc financial and statistical statements, for the Administrators, CEO, and once approved, the Board of Directors.
Arrange audits of the financial records of the organization.
Responsible for periodically assessing risks or exposures faced by the organization in daily operations.
Responsible for ongoing facility cost analysis and projections.
Responsible for participating in the feasibility studies prospective projects for development for the facility and for working with all parties involved in costing, evaluation, licensing, financing, insuring, marketing development and/or construction.
Assist CEO in determining the information systems needs and directing and monitoring those efforts.
Develops departmental and achieves departmental goals in conjunction with the Strategic Plan and projected programs and services.
Actively pursue the capital necessary to fund projects and to support services authorized by the organization through cultivation of strong relationships with banks, relevant governmental and institutional funding sources, charitable contributors, etc.
Oversee donation records.
Administrator for the 403B Plan.
Prepares, updates and submits for approval policies and procedures for his/her department ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Must be people-oriented individual, have good communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a major in Accounting, plus currently active license in Louisiana as a Certified Public Accountant.
Minimum three to five years’ experience as a Financial Officer, Controller and/or Business Manager is required, in the health care field is preferred.
Thorough understanding of theory and application of general accounting and cost accounting systems and financial management.
Knowledgeable of financial practices, programs and regulations as well as Federal, State and Local governmental/agency requirements of organizations involved in the field of aging.
Ability to exercise initiative and administrative judgment in making decisions, in interpreting and applying policies and regulation, in delegating responsibilities and in planning and analyzing administrative activities.
