Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) seeks an agile, astute and highly skilled finance leader to serve as Vice President of Clinical Department Finance (VP). Leading through collaboration and influence, the VP will work with both clinical departments and VUMC leadership to ensure the enterprise achieves its operational, financial, and strategic goals and initiatives. To that end, the VP will work specifically with clinical department business officers to support and enhance financial budgeting, analysis and daily fiscal management processes. In partnership with Finance leadership, the VP will provide the necessary data and analysis required to proactively advise management on all financial aspects of clinical professional practice and academic finance operations.
The successful candidate will be a service-minded and innovative thinker who can apply strong financial modeling skills to budgeting, forecasting, revenue and expense variance analysis along with other ad hoc and routine reporting in support of the clinical departments. Bringing at least eight years of finance operations experience in a large, complex academic health system along with prior experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and financial management, the VP will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer of the VUMC and serve as the key finance partner to the Chief Operating Officer of VUMC. The VP will also work in close coordination with the Office of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the Health System and as a key member of the finance leadership team.
