The Senior DirectorDevelopment Finance will be responsible for the financial modeling and tracking of development and redevelopment projects for a group of retail real estate assets. This position is based in Chicago, IL.
Creation and maintenance of development pro forma models, requiring significant ongoing coordination with development and leasing teams;
Create monthly capital forecasts for active development projects;
Maintenance of development project pipeline report on a monthly basis;
Create, maintain, and present executive development dashboard reporting to senior management on a monthly basis;
Coordination with Accounting team to ensure accuracy of reporting and analysis on active projects;
Coordination with Financial Planning & Analysis team to ensure accuracy of development assumptions reflected in the long-term forecast;
Additional ad hoc responsibilities to include quantitative and qualitative analysis on active or planned development projects, as well as assistance in preparing materials for presentation to executive management and investors;
Provide Finance capabilities in cross-functional teams to establish timelines, coordinate approvals, and monitor ongoing progress with respect to development and redevelopment projects;
Deliver consistently high quality and timely reporting.
The successful candidate will have a background in real estate finance. Experience within the retail real estate business will serve this individual well.
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in the real estate industry is essential, preferably within the retail sector.
Strong financial acumen and ability to understand retail real estate operating statements.
5-10 years of relevant experience in a high performance and high growth organization
Experience leading a successful team in a cross functional environment with finance and non-finance business partners.
Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
Strong knowledge of Excel; experience with SAP desired
