ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship, to direct administrative and financial operations. Will manage a broad range of administrative responsibilities and provide effective communication with all partners. Financial responsibilities include advising director on financial issues; developing strategic financial budgets; reviewing expenditure allocation and creating financial reports; performing regular financial review and control oversight; overseeing payroll confirmation; managing fellowship disbursements for about twenty-plus students; and managing cost sharing with other departments. Human resources duties include advising director on personnel matters; ensuring compliance with Sloan HR policies; managing annual merit/review processes for staff; and interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new staff, including training, mentoring, and career planning. Donor management responsibilities include preparing reports, creating timelines for donor reporting, and communicating donor requirements to staff; creating financial structure for incoming funding; and managing center donor stewardship. Will also act as liaison for shared and student space issues and provide assistance in researching and managing new technologies for the center.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; minimum of seven years' experience in an administrative, executive, or management position; good judgment and discretion with confidential information; excellent analytical, financial, organizational, and written and oral communication skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, manage changing and conflicting priorities, and meet deadlines; strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and databases; careful attention to detail; proactive work style; and ability to act as individual contributor and to collaborate within a diverse team and with all levels of personnel. Advanced understanding of MIT practices, policies, and operating norms highly desirable; as is experience with SAPgui, Concur, Atlas, Roles Database, and Cognos or Brio Warehouse. Job #15257
