AFFOA is seeking a hands-on, experienced Finance Director to ensure compliance with state and federal tax laws and filings, to handle all financial reporting and compliance matters under AFFOA’s Prime Award from the U.S. Army, and to support the Contracts Organization in pricing grants and contracts, and proposal development. The successful candidate will maintain long-term, scalable finance and accounting practices to support the lean, fast moving non-profit organization.
Maintain the organization’s financial system, accounting principles, internal controls, and related procedures and policies
Prepare budgets, spend plans, indirect rate proposals, and financial reports for management
Maintain records and serve as the primary interface for government and external auditors
Ensure compliance with state/federal tax laws and filings
Support the Contracts Manager in pricing grants and contract proposals
Required Education and Experience
8+ years of relevant financial and accounting experience
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
Familiarity with GAAP and 2 CFR 200 – Cost Principles and Audit Requirements
Experience with financial system software and relational databases
Experience with cost estimating and accounting systems related to FAR, DFARS and CAS
Strong analytical and communication skills and ability to multi-task
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in MS Excel including but not limited to pivot tables, formulas and graphing
Experience in costing and pricing compliant U.S. DoD proposals
Desired Skills, Background & Qualifications
Proficiency with Deltek software
Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
