Full Time 40 hours Grade 055 University IT / EA Schedule 8 AM-5 PM Responsibilities Position Summary: The University of Rochester is recruiting a Functional Analyst for Student Finance to support the implementation of a new student system, with specific experience in areas such as Tuition Assessment, Student Accounts Management, Billing, Payments, Collections and Reporting. Student Finance includes all functions performed by the Bursarâ™s Office. As part of a team, this person will work on the design documentation, requirement analysis/documentation, business process analysis/ documentation, configuration, testing strategy and use case development, administration, maintenance, support, implementation planning and security compliance analysis of University business systems and enabling technologies in support of University-wide student systems. Primary Functions: Be the primary resource leading and providing business analysis, administration, maintenance and support services for the Universityâ™s Student Information Systems across non-production and production application environments, working with various technical and functional personnel as needed. Design, develop, document, test, implement, administer, maintain, and support upgrade activities for student information system application software. Work with users to understand, document, and enhance business processes and supporting documentation to meet user and business needs. Plan and lead system projects, developing project plans and estimates.Aid in coordination of support/development/administration resources.Guide evaluation and testing of new procedures and software.Create procedures to maintain applications, system documents and programs. Work with users to understand and document business requirements.Assist in the translation of the business requirements into configurable software components and rules.Support system design reviews and code walkthroughs. Prepare necessary paperwork and documentation to ensure conformance to departmental/corporate standards and procedures. Guide execution of testing. Work closely with functional and technical testers on the preparation of test plans, test data, and integrated testing. Maintain a broad knowledge of the student information system and business analysis disciplines, related best practices, and related technologies. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.4 to 5 years of related experience, preferably 2-3 years in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Masterâ™s degree preferred. Experience in higher education field including a Bursar function strongly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications skills Proven track record leading multiple work streams and producing consistent results in relevant student project activities. Strong understanding of student business processes Experience with student applications preferred Strong understanding of system/application administration activities Ability to provide on-call support as required
