Posting Summary: The Darden School of Business has an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to join its team.
The Assistant Finance Manager provides timely and accurate processing of financial transactions for multiple departments within Darden; fiscal compliance with university and state regulations; assistance with helping others navigate the University's procurement processes; support in budget development and financial reporting and analysis; and work with the Darden Enterprise departments. For all units within the employee's purview, the employee will be responsible for working with the department head to develop multi-year financial projections that will influence the Darden School's forecast.
Typical Duties Include:
Timely and accurate processing of invoices, vouchers, purchase orders/requisitions and travel reimbursements. Ensuring proper transaction documentation, accurate application of fund codes, and completion of posting in related databases, and timely account reconciliations and correction of errors. Assist in the production and distribution of monthly financial reports to Darden departments. Prepare reports for reimbursement of transactions by the Darden Foundation. Review and analyze monthly variance reports. This position will assist in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process. Provide positive customer service in handling and tracking financial questions and solving problems. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with University and Darden Foundation accounting personnel. Assist with yearly record retention of financial documents. Oversee and reconcile revenue collected for conferences and events. Ensure compliance with University and state financial policies and procedures. Maintain knowledge of current University policies and procedures for financial transactions.

Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply and comply with accounting and reporting rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Demonstrated strong ability to compile, analyze and evaluate fiscal data and reports. Proven ability to work with all levels of personnel, under pressure with minimum supervision. Demonstrated strong customer service skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
